In 2023, 23.5 per cent of the working population in Germany worked from home at least some of the time. The figures clearly show how firmly established flexible working arrangements have become.

An integral part of everyday working life

Working from home or mobile working is no longer considered a temporary solution. Almost a quarter of employees now carry out at least some of their tasks from home – a clear indication that new working models are not only accepted but actively used.

Between the office and home: hybrid working is gaining ground

In 2023, 13.2 per cent of the working population used home office on more than half of their working days, with a further 10.4 per cent doing so less frequently. The range shows how diverse flexible working arrangements have become. Many companies are relying on hybrid models that offer both guidance and freedom.

Companies create framework conditions

Studies from the information industry report that around 80 per cent of companies allow remote working at least once a week. For employers, flexibility thus becomes a strategic advantage: they support the satisfaction of their teams, reduce travel times and often create conditions for more productive work.

Changing work environments

As the world of work changes, offices and home office setups are also adapting. Ergonomic furniture, movement-friendly design, flexible room concepts and well-designed digital workplaces promote health, concentration and creativity. This creates an environment in which ideas can flourish – regardless of whether you work in the office or at home.
