From 25-29 March 2014 more than 900 exhibitors presented for the first time all the future trends in learning and teaching at didacta. Over this period of five days around 90,000 visitors made their way to the Exhibition Centre in Stuttgart/Germany. As a leading furniture supplier to the knowledge society VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken was also present, exhibiting to an interested public on a stand of around 374 m² products and innovations in the field of lifelong learning.

The feedback could not have been more positive: the large number of visitors who dropped by the VS stand were thrilled. Above all with the new Shift+ school-furniture series, which made its debut at didacta, the furniture manufacturer from Tauberbischofsheim knew how to introduce a new star.

In cooperation with the American architect David A. Stubbs II (who has plenty of experience in designing school buildings) VS has created with Shift+ a range of furniture that sets new standards of multifunctionality and affords both students and teachers the scope that contemporary and sustained teaching demands. Like no other product Shift+, with its table, storage and seat elements, transforms monofunctional classrooms into flexible learning environments.

The fact that VS products have always met the highest ergonomic standards is borne out by another new product: the B1Chair. Here backrest and seat surface are flexible independently of each other. Every urge to move is directly accommodated and supported by the elegant chair, encouraging the user to sit dynamically and change their posture in a healthy way. Once they had tried out the chair, many visitors didn’t want to get off the chair at all!

As a complete provider VS naturally had more than just furniture in its portfolio. Technically minded visitors were presented under the title “Systemhaus Schule” (School as Systems House) with a comprehensive range of advice and services relating to networked learning in schools that goes far beyond the sale of interactive whiteboards. This is because VS’ expertise also extends to total solutions in the school network.

The perennial top seller Hokki stool knew as always how to capture the public’s attention. As in previous years, the dynamic talent was offered at a special trade-fair price and found numerous new fans.
