European Level (FEMB)
European Level is a standard for office and non-household furniture with comprehensive product- and company-related criteria for sustainability and the circular economy. It was developed by experts from the industry specifically to define relevant requirements for furniture.
The standard is published by the European Office Furniture Association FEMB, the legal owner is IBA (Industrieverband Büro und Arbeitswelt e. V.).
There is currently a plethora of sustainability certification schemes. At VS, we focus on sustainability certification at European Level. The reason for this is not only the convincing overall concept, but also the strong credibility of the European Level certification.

Conducting audits in the company
A central core element of the FEMB certification is the conducting of regular audits on site to ensure implementation of the standard requirements in the company.
Sustainability certification of the highest quality category
European Level certification is classed as a type-1 environmental certificate according to DIN EN ISO 14024. This confirms the credibility of the certificate.
